I have practised in Lahore since 2011 and before the High Court since 2014. Inheritance is the largest part of my work, usually with brothers and sisters in different countries who need one person on the ground. I take instructions by video call, act on a special power of attorney, and send a written note after every hearing.

Got the succession certificate without one trip home

My father passed away and the bank would not release his account without a succession certificate. Asma explained the steps on a video call, sent me a list of the documents, and filed once my power of attorney arrived. She sent a short message after every hearing. The certificate was issued in about four months. I never had to travel.

The legal work was solid and the partition suit is moving. My only complaint is that in busy weeks it could take two or three days to get an answer on WhatsApp. When she did reply, the answer was complete.
