Three documents every heir abroad should get attested first

Before anything can be filed, three papers usually need a stamp: the death certificate, the family registration certificate, and your power of attorney.

Where the stamp comes from

The power of attorney is attested at a Pakistani mission in the country you live in. The other two are issued in Pakistan and your advocate can collect them.

What goes wrong

A power of attorney that names the wrong court, or leaves out the power to sell, has to be done again. Ask your advocate to draft it before you go to the mission.
