The paper that starts a criminal case in Pakistan is the first information report, the FIR. It is written at a police station, and once it exists, the police investigate and a court may follow. This page is about what it is, from both sides.

What this is about
To report, you or someone for you goes to the police station for the place where it happened, and the report is written down. The common problem is a station that will not register it. There are routes around that, and an advocate knows them.
On the other side, a report can be filed about you while you are abroad. Then the questions are what it says, whether an arrest can follow, and how to answer it before you travel. That is the page on a false case.
