A false case has been
filed against me
A report with your name in it, filed in Pakistan while you were somewhere else, is more common than it should be. It is used in property disputes and family disputes as pressure. It can stop you at the airport. This page is about what can be done, and in what order.

What this is about
Three things can be asked of a court. Bail, so that you are not arrested. Protection before arrest, for the period before you can appear. And, where the report is baseless, that the case be set aside altogether. Which of them comes first depends on what the report says and where the case has reached.
The one thing not to do is travel without knowing. An advocate can find out what exists against you before you book a ticket.

- The report, or the details to obtain it.
- Anything that shows where you were at the time.
- The papers of the dispute behind it, if there is one.
- Your identity document and a power of attorney.

What an advocate does.
- Obtains the report and tells you what it actually says.
- Applies for bail or for protection before arrest, so that you can appear without being held.
- Applies to have a baseless case set aside.
- Attends the hearings, so that the case does not move in your absence.

- What does the report actually say, and can you get me a copy?
- Can you apply for protection before arrest before I travel?
- Where has the case reached: police, magistrate or trial?
- What do you need from me, and by when?
- What is your fee, and what is not included in it?
