I want to register
a trade mark
A name or a logo that is not registered in Pakistan can be used there by someone else, and often is. Registration is what gives you the right to stop them. This page shows the office, the steps and how long the protection lasts.
Where this applies This page covers trade marks registered in Pakistan. A registration in the country you live in does not by itself protect the mark in Pakistan.
What this is about
The office is the Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan, which runs the trade marks registry. Its own guidance describes the route: a search, an application, examination, publication so that others can object, and then registration. A registered mark is valid for ten years from filing and can be renewed for further ten-year periods.
The value of the registration is what it lets you do afterwards: stop copies, and act against someone who registers your name first. That second problem is common, and it is far easier to prevent than to undo.
